Party Zone Sandbars In Miami and the Florida Keys

Popular Boater’s Paradise Sandbars for gathering, family fun and parties

South Florida and the Florida Keys naturally have some of the best sandbars in the world. With the shallow waters and shifting sands, new sandbars occasionally appear while others slip under the water.

This article is part of a series of Sandbars around the state of Florida. See the complete state of Florida’s sandbars here.

In Miami and the Keys, sandbars pop up along the beach just out from the shoreline that are fun to explore. These sandbars change and can come and go with storms or season. While there are numerous islands off Florida’s coast, these sandbars have grown in popularity for the boating community. Sandbars that are just under the water and are only accessible by boat have become party and family fun zones.

If you are looking for some fun and explorations on the water in Florida, check out these sandbars.

The Florida Keys

The Florida Keys are loaded with Sandbars that offer everything from popular Party spots to more secluded sandbars that are perfect for a day out on the water. Key West Paddle shares this amazing look at Key West spots.

Islamorada Sandbar

This drone video is awesome and showcases the Islamorada Sandbar so let you see how awesome it is!

One of the most popular boating party spots, the Islamorada Sandbar is located just off Windley Key on Islamorada’s Village of Islands at Mile Marker 84 on the Atlantic Ocean side. Also known as Whale Harbor Channel Sandbar, this sandbar sits under the water and runs along the channel on both sides and is a gorgeous place to boat or paddle to. Most days you will see boats gathered, people in lounge chairs, even a dog now and then, playing in the shallow water. On the weekends, you might see people come with grills and cook! You can only get there by boat and there are several companies nearby who specialize in tours and boat rentals. And it’s not just for partiers. It is also a great place for family time, exploring and playing on the water.

Miami

Gorgeous Drone Video over the popular Haulover Sandbar

The Haulover Sandbar is very popular as this spot rises above water during low tide and is just below the surface at high tide. The beautiful sand provides an oasis for boaters to enjoy right in the middle of the bay in North Miami Beach near the inlet just west of the Haulover Beach Marina. Only accessible by boat, you can rent a boat or charter from many locations in the Miami area. This area is wide spread with shallow waters extending across much of the bay area by the inlet. You will find areas of partiers, groups, family activities, and even a floating food boat (yes, just like a food truck but on the water!)

Nixon Sandbar, named for the nearby Nixon Beach, is a popular Sandbar just off Key Biscayne in Biscayne Bay.
