The Cultural Coast is the area on the west coast of Florida that encompasses a richness of cultural arts and natural beauty.
The area has become known as the Cultural Coast because it is home to a rich mix of artists, performers, museums, galleries, theater, music, film, architecture and art schools. The Ringling family was a big contributor to the rich heritage and growth of the arts in the area. John Ringling, a brother and co-founder of "Ringling Brothers Circus" and a patron of the arts, set his roots in Sarasota in the 1920's imprinting his legacy on the area. Geographically the area includes Sarasota, Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key, Lido Key and miles of the some most beautiful beaches in the world.
