Florida is a peninsula made up of a diverse collection of islands, marshes, springs, swamps, and hundreds of small lakes, rivers, and ponds. On the coastal front, much of the land is flat with sandy beaches, coral reefs and sandbars. Toward the upland area is a combination of rolling-hills as well as flat land. In South Florida, you will find the swampy Everglades, while at the southernmost tip of Florida lies the Florida Keys.
