Dozens of Annual film festivals take place in Florida each year. You can find film festivals in every corner of the state. Some festivals highlight local talent or the best that international independent filmmakers have to offer, while others highlight films around a certain group of filmmakers such as LGBT, women, Latino, or Jewish talent.

The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is an annual event held each year in June in Miami, Florida. Festivals began in 1997 dedicated to showcasing quality film and television content by and about people of African descent, and supporting emerging artists to diversify the images and storytellers working in the entertainment industry.

The Borscht Film Festival is a non-profit semi-annual event held at iconic Miami venues that commissions, produces, and showcases work by emerging regional filmmakers. To showcase the city in a more interesting way then it is typically depicted in movies, this 5 day extravaganza is a chance for local professionals and emerging Miami artists to exhibit films that tell unique Miami stories.
